FEBRURY 2021: PROJECT DIAMOND
We are pleased to announce the launch of our 2nd anthology project, Diamond!
As part of her advocacy for the welfare of immigrants, Samantha Rumbidzai Vazhure is compiling and editing an anthology of short stories by upcoming Zimbabwean writers. The themes of this anthology talk to the resilience and hope of the Zimbabwean dispersion.
What's in a name?
A diamond is a gemstone known for its resilience under pressure, and its brilliance is based on its ability to reflect light. When light enters the stone, it is refracted by the diamond's internal angles, causing the sparkle diamonds are known for. This sparkle represents hope. When two or more diamonds are placed together, a superposition called entanglement, they vibrate at a low frequency only detectable by laser. Spiritually, a diamond represents clarity, promise and possibility. These characteristics of a diamond have been used as puns to name the anthology, BRILLIANCE OF HOPE: Reflections, Refractions and Vibrations of the Zimbabwean dispersion.
BRILLIANCE OF HOPE will be published by Carnelian Heart Publishing Ltd, as part of our Advocacy-based publishing service. Release date - 6 September 2021!
